SUMMARY: What would you like to see in a school of the future? This was the question being hotly debated in the exclusive Chat session with Alan November. The importance of computer technology today, laptops replacing books, courses on animation and game design, connecting parents live into classrooms through ‘Skype’, student ‘blogs’ and web pages - these are just some of the topics that were covered. Most interesting though was the debate on face-to-face learning versus remote, independent learning online, which left Alan and the students with ample food for thought.

Student: how did your grandad manage to survive the disaster?
Philip Littlejohn: he was ordered to row lifeboat 13 which also contained a 9 week old baby now a 94 year old survivor
